NerdioCon 2024 is just around the corner! From February 12–16, 2024, we will be in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our third annual in-person, all-inclusive partner conference, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring industry leaders together to tackle the most important topics our teams are facing. We are once again looking forward to bringing attendees the best content, sponsors, and speakers from around the channel.

Each week leading up to the event, we’re publishing installments of our Nerd Icon blog series to give you a sneak peek of some of the experts you can expect to hear from at NerdioCon 2024. Our next featured speaker is Eric Torres, VP of Channel at ScalePad!

Tell us about ScalePad and your current role with them

Scalepad strengthens the connection between managed service providers (MSPs) and their clients. Trusted by more than 12,000 partners worldwide, ScalePad’s applications are used to improve their clients’ overall IT environments and enhance the client experience. Our applications deliver actionable insights that lead to enhanced service delivery through automated data collection and analysis.

My role at ScalePad is to do what I love, which is being one of the evangelists for the company and bringing awareness and education to the IT community. My amazing team of Ola Witukiewicz, Ray Mann, and Sandra Rauda are the force and faces of ScalePad that see us travel to over 50 different cities across the globe, helping our Partners succeed and meeting new ones to help.

In short, we help our partners deliver a better customer experience while improving their bottom line. Seeing their success is an awfully good feeling! Our brand promise is “Equipping Your MSP adventure,” and we take that to heart. We partner with MSPs, no matter their size or maturity, and provide whatever they need to thrive in the MSP landscape alongside them as they grow. Our solutions have been proven to drive new revenue, increase operational maturity, and produce a better customer experience for the clients of MSPs.

What do you enjoy about working in IT? What makes it unique?

What I love most about this industry, and specifically learning from the best, is the amount of sharing we all do. Whether that’s MSPs helping other MSPs, or vendors helping other vendors, we’ve all become this force that continues to be the IT superhero for small and medium-sized businesses. For me specifically, I’m part of this wild traveling circus that has become my lifelong friends and family.

What will you be presenting about at NerdioCon 2024?

I will be turning the tables a bit for my presentation. It’s a matter of fact that MSPs have become heroes to their clients, saving them from whatever is thrown at them — pandemics, shady cybercriminals, and even just simply building the backbone of their business, their network. I’ll take you on a journey called “An IT Hero in the Making: An Origin Story,” where I’ll be narrating the backstory of an MSP protagonist.

From the sparks of IT ambition in childhood to the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of today, showcasing this journey from ho-hum to hero. Each step brings them closer to the confident and profitable hero we know today: standardizing processes, leveraging automation tools, and solidifying security measures. Could this be your story too? This topic resonates with MSPs because they live it. It doesn’t matter the size of the MSP or the kind of clients they serve; all IT solution providers are dealing with a set of challenges that affect the outcomes of their service delivery. The challenges may be a bit different based on the organization, but nonetheless, addressing these challenges makes for happier clients, and that’s what we strive to achieve.

What are you looking forward to most about the event?

Look… I live in Milwaukee… and it’s going to be the coldest month of the year. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I’m most looking forward to finally joining an event that is in paradise, with over 500 of my friends, doing what I love. The content, the speakers, the attendees, the excursions — this is all shaping up to be one of my favorite (all-inclusive) weeks of the year! I know Natasha and the whole Nerdio team are going to absolutely crush this event, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store.

I personally have not attended NerdioCon in the past, but other members of ScalePad have attended, and the team that was able to join had nothing but rave reviews of everything.

What are some topics or pain points that your company can help channel partners with that you’ll be discussing at NerdioCon?

Asset Lifecycle Management, vCIO and client success, automated backup monitoring processes, warranty procurement, IT asset disposal, business intelligence, security & compliance, and automated quoting will all be top of mind for us in our NerdioCon discussions.
