NerdioCon 2024 is just around the corner! From February 12 – 16, 2024, we will be in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our third annual in-person, all-inclusive partner conference, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring industry leaders together to tackle the most important topics our teams are facing. We are once again looking forward to bringing attendees the best content, sponsors, and speakers from around the channel.

Each week leading up to the event, we’re publishing installments of our Nerd Icon blog series to give you a sneak peek of some of the experts you can expect to hear from at NerdioCon 2024. Our next featured speaker is Paz Maoz, Manager of Growth Strategy at N-able.

Tell us about N-able and your current role with them

N-able produces best-of-breed software, designed specifically for the unique needs of the MSP. Our tools help MSPs grow their business and create efficiencies, helping to keep thousands of SMBs safe and secure.

As a Manager of Growth Strategy, I lead a team that is focused on aligning our resources to our MSP partners’ growth initiatives. Whether it’s sales and marketing, changes to the security landscape, new toolsets, or simply reducing internal inefficiencies to free up resources, N-able has programs to support our MSPs, and my team helps to drive awareness.

To put it simply, I coach a team that helps technology companies perform better by connecting them to our programs, products, and people.

Why do you enjoy working in IT? What makes it unique?

The number one reason I enjoy working in the channel is simple: the world would not function without MSPs! There isn’t a day that goes by where we are not receiving a good or service that is only available thanks to an MSP. In addition to the simple necessities, I love the “coopetition” that exists in the Channel. Despite everyone technically being in the same category, channel members will happily share their stories, recipes for success, and challenges they need to overcome. Rather than a hypercompetitive approach, MSPs work together. They know that rising tides lift all ships. 

What will you be presenting about at NerdioCon 2024?

My session is titled “Red Ocean/Blue Ocean — The Changing Tides in the MSP Landscape.” It will highlight industry shifts and note how creating differentiation amongst competitors can drive new revenue opportunities.

What are you looking forward to most about the event?

Connecting with the channel! I’m really excited to meet up with my network, build new relationships, and get to know what challenges are being faced so we can work to overcome them together. I am a NerdioCon rookie, so I can’t wait to see what’s in store.

As a Canadian, the beach doesn’t hurt either.

What are some topics or pain points that your company can help channel partners with that you’ll be discussing at NerdioCon?

For NerdioCon 2024, our discussions will be centered around key areas crucial for our channel partners. We’re diving into topics like Managed XDR, MDR, and EDR for beefing up cybersecurity. The conversation extends to Backup and Disaster Recovery for solid data protection, cloud monitoring and management for smoother operations, and RMM to keep an eye on IT infrastructures. Beyond our solutions, we’re exploring a range of security tools. 

We’re also sharing insights into marketing and sales support, recognizing their importance. Additionally, we’re acknowledging the complexities of mergers and acquisitions and understanding the challenges and opportunities that come with them. At N-able, we’re aiming to be a reliable partner, helping navigate the diverse aspects of technology with our collective knowledge.
