NerdioCon 2024 Nerd Icon- Chris Feeney, IGEL Technology

NerdioCon 2024 is just one week away! From February 12–16, 2024, we will be in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for our third annual in-person, all-inclusive partner conference, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring industry leaders together to tackle the most important topics our teams are facing.

Each week leading up to the event, we’re publishing installments of our Nerd Icon blog series to give you a sneak peek of some of the experts you can expect to hear from at NerdioCon 2024. Our next featured speaker is Chris Feeney, Director of Vertical Solutions and Channel Presales Engineering at IGEL Technology!

Tell us about IGEL and your current role with them

IGEL’s focus is security. We offer a secure endpoint OS designed around a Preventative Security Model™ that removes the attack vectors exploited by bad actors for ransomware and other cyber-attacks. IGEL OS supports zero trust approaches to IT security, and we’re solving endpoint management issues for today while building for the future. My current role is Director of Vertical Solutions and Channel Presales Engineering. IGEL is 100% channel sales, and we have five key industry verticals. I lead a group of IGEL SMEs on these verticals and help educate and train partners on our solution.

Why do you enjoy working in IT? What makes it unique?

I’m a problem solver, and I love learning about how technology can be used to solve problems within the realm of enduser computing. Working with partners is all about relationships, and that is the best part of my job. I get to meet and work with fantastic people, and I love hearing how the solutions we work on together help solve problems with our customers across a variety of industries.

People in IT are great problem solvers and lifelong learners, and they love the opportunity to tackle different challenges every day and help users.

What will you be presenting about at NerdioCon 2024?

My presentation is titled IGEL and Lenovo — The Secure Endpoint for Now & Next: Connecting to the Evolution of EUC (end user computing). IGEL and Lenovo provide a secure endpoint built for the cloud. Our joint solution offers a simplified end-user experience. IGEL OS is preloaded on Lenovo hardware and can be licensed, configured, and ready for accessing cloud resources like Microsoft AVD apps or desktops in minutes. Our simplified management is perfect for MSPs, channel partners, and companies looking to streamline their endpoint management costs.

What are you looking forward to most about the event?

I’m looking forward to learning more about the Nerdio solution and how our joint customers can benefit. I’m also excited to network with industry peers and existing and/or potential customers and partners.

I have not personally been to NerdioCon yet, but IGEL has attended every NerdioCon to date, and we’re excited to return.

What are some topics or pain points that your company can help channel partners with that you’ll be discussing at NerdioCon?

We’ll be discussing endpoint security, ransomware/malware recovery or mitigation, and on-premises to Cloud migrations and how IGEL can help.
