In 2026, managed service providers (MSPs) have a major opportunity at their fingertips.
Most MSPs end up offering Microsoft 365 to their end users bundled into their basic services and support package. Unfortunately, this often results in MSPs balancing razor-thin margins from a business perspective. And from a tactical perspective, MSPs can end up managing hundreds of customer tenants manually, leading to hidden configuration and policy drift across the board.
With the lack of native support for multi-tenant standardization and security, Microsoft’s global updates may seem overwhelming and insurmountable.
However, MSPs don’t have to consider these selective price hikes a setback. With Microsoft 365 Business Premium (the only plan that won’t see price increases in 2026), MSPs have an opportunity to not only standardize their inherited customer tenants and manually managed environments on one plan, but they can also productize their Microsoft 365 offerings by including enterprise-grade security and management features to MSPs without relying on five different vendors to achieve the same level of coverage.
Over the last three months, we’ve been preparing Nerdio Manager for MSP to help our partners audit and standardize their customer tenants and prove the ongoing value of their Microsoft 365 management to their end users. Every feature we’ve shipped in version 6.7, which is available now, is designed to simplify tenant standardization, visibility, policy management, and security or compliance for MSPs.
Achieve greater understanding of your Microsoft 365 investment
Our focus in 2026 is on ensuring MSPs can get multi-tenant visibility and automations to simplify standardizing customer tenants that they can’t get anywhere else.
One of the hardest parts of onboarding a new customer is that you inherit all their old environments and their existing Microsoft 365 tenant. At best, these may be out of line with your MSP’s best practices and security policies. At worst, the tenants are completely misconfigured and have to be rebuilt from the ground up again.
Nerdio Manager for MSP version 6.7 is here to fix that. We’re making it easier to identify how tenants are configured and performing with updates to our reporting.
Once you identify problematic tenants with Nerdio Manager, it only takes a few clicks for MSPs to use our secure policy baselines to deploy and enforce secure standards and configure individual M365 solutions with our Solution Baselines. This frees up hours of manual Microsoft 365 management that technicians can put into more pressing or billable work for your MSP.
Ensure user offboarding is as thorough and easy as onboarding
Onboarding and supporting current customers is mission critical, but we recognize that end-user offboarding is just as critical and needs to as quick and efficient as possible, whether it’s due to turnover at a client business or a customer moving onto another MSP.
That’s why our Policy Management team has been hard at work on User Offboarding Templates. With version 6.7, MSPs can see when technicians have initiated an offboarding workflow and manage it accordingly, whether that’s globally across every customer tenant or on a case-by case basis.
In addition, email notifications have also been decoupled into a standalone action, giving you more flexibility over who gets notified and when. Together, these updates reduce risk, improve accountability, and help ensure nothing slips through the cracks during transitions.
Azure Virtual Desktop Management
For MSPs delivering Azure Virtual Desktop and VDI‑based services, version 6.7 introduces several meaningful improvements that enhance both performance and operational control. Support for Azure Files Premium v2 enables more flexible file share provisioning with independently configurable capacity, IOPS, and throughput—giving MSPs greater control over performance and cost. Native Entra ID Join for Azure Files further simplifies FSLogix deployments and modern identity scenarios.
Operational reliability also improves with new Azure Capacity Extender capabilities, including an Auto Revert option that ensures VMs return to their desired SKU after temporary capacity adjustments. Additionally, hosts can now be placed into a deactivated (drain) state until scripted actions complete, reducing risk during maintenance and automation workflows.
These enhancements help MSPs optimize Azure investments while delivering a more predictable and resilient AVD experience for end users.
“It should be so easy my intern could do it”
From a bigger picture perspective, we heard from our partners that Nerdio Manager offers a lot of management capabilities across Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Intune. However, with the number of solutions and tenant use cases we’re supporting, we want to make sure that this platform and our help desk automations are easy to use, whether you’re a Level 1 technician at the beginning of your career or a MSP manager that’s been operating for 25 years.
Version 6.7 offers several UI refreshes to make Nerdio Manager for MSP more accessible to partners at any stage in their business’ growth, easier to standardize and automate customer tenant management, and more straightforward to enforce secure policies by default.
