Managing Microsoft Cloud environments across dozens of customers means there’s always something that can be automated, simplified, or improved.
That’s exactly what the latest release of Nerdio Manager for MSP focuses on.
Version 6.8 introduces several updates designed to help MSPs spend less time on manual work and more time delivering value to customers. From smarter Azure storage scaling to better policy control and faster platform setup, this release brings practical improvements that make day-to-day operations smoother.
Here are five updates MSPs will be especially excited about.
1. Smarter storage scaling with Azure Files Premium v2 auto-scaling
Managing storage for Azure Virtual Desktop environments can be a balancing act. Overprovision storage, and you waste money. Underprovision it, and performance can suffer.
In v6.8, Nerdio Manager for MSP introduces support for auto-scaling Azure Files Premium v2, allowing both storage capacity and performance to automatically adjust based on demand or a defined schedule. Azure Files Premium v2 already allows capacity and performance to be configured independently, and auto-scaling builds on that flexibility by automating those adjustments.
This helps MSPs:
- Avoid overprovisioning storage.
- Maintain consistent AVD performance.
- Automatically scale storage performance as workloads change.
- Better control Azure infrastructure costs.
For MSPs managing multiple environments, this automation helps ensure reliable performance while keeping Azure costs under control.

2. Faster setup with the new Easy Start experience
Getting started with a new platform shouldn’t feel like assembling IKEA furniture without instructions.
The new Easy Start configuration experience simplifies the initial deployment of Nerdio Manager for MSP. Instead of navigating a long list of configuration steps manually, Easy Start walks partners through the setup process and helps tailor the environment to their operational model.
This makes it easier for MSPs to:
- Deploy Nerdio Manager faster.
- Configure environments according to their service model.
- Start managing customer tenants more quickly.
This is especially important for new partners because it significantly reduces the time required to get up and running.
3. Built-in policy templates for faster standardization
Configuring security and compliance policies across multiple customer environments can take time, especially when MSPs need to build each policy from scratch.
In v6.8, Nerdio Manager for MSP introduces an expanded set of built-in policy templates, allowing MSPs to quickly apply common Microsoft Intune configurations across tenants.
These templates cover key areas. such as:
- BitLocker device encryption.
- Microsoft Defender and Attack Surface Reduction rules.
- Compliance policies for AVD, Windows 365, and physical devices.
- Microsoft 365 Apps and OneDrive configuration settings.
By starting with pre-built templates, MSPs can standardize configurations faster and reduce the time required to onboard new environments.

4. Automated communication with custom email templates
User lifecycle management is a routine task for MSPs, but communication around those processes can often be inconsistent.
Nerdio Manager v6.8 introduces custom email templates for user offboarding workflows, making it easier to standardize notifications when users are removed from environments.
MSPs can now create reusable templates that support:
- Built-in or custom messaging.
- Variables for multi-tenant environments.
- Consistent communication during automated workflows.
It’s a powerful feature that removes another manual step and helps ensure customers receive clear, professional notifications during offboarding processes.

5. More resilient image deployments with multi-zone Azure Compute Galleries
Reliability is critical when deploying images for Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
With v6.8, Nerdio Manager now supports multi-zone redundancy for Azure Compute Galleries, improving availability and resilience when managing AVD images.
This enhancement helps MSPs:
- Improve reliability of host deployments.
- Reduce risk associated with image availability.
- Strengthen business continuity across Azure regions.
For providers running production environments, this adds another layer of resilience to the infrastructure their customers rely on every day.
Continuing to improve MSP operations
In addition to these updates, Nerdio Manager for MSP v6.8 includes several performance improvements, platform refinements, and smaller enhancements that continue to improve reliability and day-to-day usability.
As always, our goal is simple: help MSPs standardize operations, automate routine tasks, and manage Microsoft Cloud environments more efficiently.
