Nerdio Compass Is Now in Public Preview

Today, we're excited to announce that Nerdio Compass is now available in public preview—and we're opening the doors to every organization ready to gain fast, actionable insights about your existing VDI environment that help accelerate your Windows Cloud modernization journey.

Since launching the private preview in May, early adopters have connected their Citrix environments to Nerdio Compass, surfaced configuration data they didn't have before, and started planning their modernization path to Windows Cloud solutions (including Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Azure Virtual Desktop Hybrid) with far more confidence. Today, Nerdio is making Nerdio Compass available to everyone at no cost.

What's new in public preview

The public preview expands on the private preview foundation with two new key capabilities, as well as broader platform support and a refined user experience throughout.

• Cost Analysis — For the first time, Nerdio Compass gives you a clear picture of what your current VDI environment actually costs to run. The new Costs tab surfaces spend across your estate with default pricing assumptions you can adjust to match your real contracts and licensing. Whether you're building a business case for modernization or simply trying to understand where budget is going, this is the data you've been missing.

• Citrix Policy Assessments — Nerdio Compass now analyzes your Citrix policy configuration, not just your environment structure. This means you get actionable insight into how policies are applied across your deployment, where complexity has accumulated, and what needs to be addressed before you can modernize with confidence. For many organizations, policy debt is the hidden blocker in migration planning. Now it's much more visible.

Additional public preview updates include:

• Broader platform support — discovery now covers Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Microsoft Intune environments for a consistent multi-platform view.
• World map view — visualize the geographic distribution of your VDI estate at a glance, useful for multi-region organizations planning phased rollouts.
• Refined migration sizing — improved workload analysis helps you move beyond guesswork when estimating effort and scope for a move to Windows 365 or AVD.
